Is the app free?

Ready is totally free to use without any hidden fees.

Are all messages encrypted in the Ready App?

It depends on your options of communication: 1-1, (public and private) group, and (public and private) channel. • In public groups and public channels, as the names suggest, messages are public, instead of encrypted. They can be read by any Ready user. • In 1-1 conversations, private groups, and private channels, all messages are encrypted with each user's public key. If both the sender and the recipient are online, Ready does not store user messages but serves purely as an intermediary to forward messages. If either party is offline, Ready will store unread messages for 90 days, after which the messages will be deleted. All messages are encrypted and only the recipient can decrypt them; therefore, storing messages on Ready does not pose the risk of data breaches to them. Rather, Ready can offer higher speed, more efficiency, and better convenience without compromising security.

How do I know for sure that my messages are being encrypted?

Suffice to say, we use peer-to-peer protocol, end-to-end encryption, and zero-knowledge infrastructure to encrypt your messages.

To be a little more specific, every message is end-to-end encrypted, and so is the sender's information. Therefore, it is impossible for unintended audiences to know who sends messages to who, let alone the content of the messages.

In personal chats, the intended audience of the message is able to decrypt and read the message. In public chats, people who know the name of the chat are able to decrypt the content.

How does Ready connect to the blockchain?

Only the wallet and the browser connect to the Ethereum blockchain, not messages.

Does Ready also run on my PC?

For now, Ready only offers mobile usage. However, we’ll be releasing the desktop version shortly after our launch.

What is the difference between groups and channels?

Groups and channels are useful for different purposes of communication. While groups facilitate lively discussion and interaction, channels help highlight news and organize responses. Ready offers both to well-meet users’ needs. Accompanying groups with channels or vice versa is also a great method to build and strengthen a community.
